Dear Friends and Colleagues:
We are pleased to officially announce the publication of “Ayurveda in Nepal: The Teachings of Vaidya Mana Bajra Bajracharya”, originally written in Sanskrit and Nepali by the late Vaidya Mana Bajra Bajrachayra (“Dr. Mana”), and translated into English by the editors over a 10 year period. We think you will find it unlike any book on Ayurveda you have seen before. In it you will find nothing about curcumin for cancer, guggul for cholesterol or other references to scientific research on Ayurveda. Instead you will find a concise detailed outline including basic treatment details of an authentic tradition in Ayurveda, passed down from generation to generation over the last 800 years. The late Dr. Mana was particularly well known both in Nepal and internationally for his great skill in the treatment of many difficult diseases, and this book is a veritable treasure-trove of his knowledge.
The present work is a summary providing a succinct overview of the basic concepts and treatments used by Dr. Mana and his ancestral tradition. It is only the first of 40 other texts written by Dr. Mana, texts that provide specific detail on subjects including cancer and diabetes, all of which have yet to be translated into English. The great hope of the editors is that the world can be made aware of this valuable tradition, which is at risk of becoming lost due to the overwhelming social, culture and political changes now taking place in Nepal. Purchasing this book directly supports Dr. Mana’s son Vaidya Madhu Bajra Bajracharya (“Dr. Madhu”) to continue this tradition as well as ensure that Dr. Mana’s great heritage is made available to all.
A preview of some of the book contents can be found on this website, and we invite you to explore the site and share it with your colleagues, friends and students. To purchase the book, we are pleased to offer a discount program through schools and teachers when four or more books are bought at once. Orders of less than four books are available at the regular price.
We thank you for your interest and support of Ayurveda in Nepal!
Sincerely,
Madhu Bajra Bajracharya
